Errors arise without invitation; they spill unintentionally on to our best
intentions betraying the fragility of the solid structures the surround us.
Anomalies perturb us, misunderstandings confuse us, lapses betray us but
they also create the possibility of a new understanding, a new perception
of reality. Imbalances, ruptures and glitches in the system alert us to the
illusions and mirages that exist within humanity and the society we live.

ERràTICA is an exhibition of works, objects and circumstances that signal
or have suffered an error seen through various distinctive perspectives.
The invited artists have used various different resources from photography,
video, stolen images, sound recording, coding to ones own existence. The
aim is to represent varied and divergent perspective in relation to the
concept.

The curator of ERráTICA, Valentina Montero debuts her first art piece: her
framed birth certificate accompanied by a description of the methods of
contraception used by her parents, which obviously did not work. This
cynical and yet tongue-in-cheek statement acts as a introduction to the
rest of the works in the exhibition, that express a vision that can be both
ironic, playful and cynical at the same time. The issues explored by the
artists in ERráTICA begin with the investigation powers structures created
by neocolonialism, immigration, exclusion and extend to questions of
aesthetics, politics and conceptual.
